Track pants (i.e. drawstring waist pants) are no longer exclusive to lazy Sundays at home. They can actually be styled to create multiple, chic looks to get you through the week. The midnight blue, drawstring track pants by Derek Lam 10 Crosby are a wardrobe essential.  The adjustable waist band with an elastic back is flattering, comfortable, and accommodating to a new mommy tummy.  Style them sporty with a chic sweatshirt and kicks or pair them with metallic heels and a statement blouse for a showstopping and sophisticated look.  A versatile pair of elastic waist pants is a closet must-have.

Create a sophisticated, yet casual look that you can wear during parent teacher meetings or an afternoon of errands. Simply add a chic mom crop over a button down, like the 10 Crosby Derek Lam 2 in 1 sweatshirt (includes a detachable sleeveless white poplin blouse) and a pair of comfy wedges. You can wear the pieces together or separately to create multiple looks. Versatile clothing pieces like these are great #momstyle investments.

To create a more professional look for the office, dress the track pants up with a crisp button down, like the Derek Lam 10 Crosby white sleeveless shirt (part of the 2 in 1 shown above), heels, and a sharp blazer.  This Smythe blazer, with it's perfect proportions and beautiful pinstripe details is flattering for all shapes.

An ideal weekend go-to, we love to pair them with a comfy top like the Rachel Comey long sleeve poise top. With the perfect amount of swing that flatters the body, you will love wearing this vibrant, comfortable, and effortlessly chic top.   Plus, navy and pink is great color combo to keep things fresh and happy. Complete the look with your favorite bootie for any scheduled playdates you might have over the weekend.

Don't get us wrong, we love a legging.  They are so easy to wear, and we all feel comfortable with how to style them.  But as fashion is ever changing...it's time to get back on the wide leg wagon.  A pair of straight leg, elastic waist track pants is a great start!  Go for it!
