How To Wear: Mom Crop

Spring is just around the corner, and it seems that the crop top remains as a frequent trend you'll see in fashion mags and street style blogs. Trying to style a crop top so that it's flattering on our mommy bodies without showing too much skin is sure to cause some anxiety. However, with the right layering pieces and a little help from the BURU GURU, we know you'll love rocking a mom crop throughout every season!

A romper is a quick way to look chic in a hurry. We love the classic black and white color combo of the Milly Stretch Silk Crepe Romper. When you add a fabulously printed "mom crop", like the Sam & Lavi Tiger Lilly  you'll create an edgy look that, when paired with hosiery and work appropriate shoes, will give you confidence for an important work meeting. (Let's be honest, this look probably won't fly in a law or accounting office...but if your work environment is a little more relaxed, then we say go for it!)

For added texture and an extra layer of warmth, we love the By Malene Birger Josta Fringe Sweater styled over a classic button down, like Jordan Louis Classic Button-Up in Powder Blue. Create a casual, yet chic look when you pair your mom crop and button up with The Odells Simple Cloth Slouch Pant in Denim. This look is a great way to transition your mom crops from cold to warmer seasons. When the temp does begin to rise , simply remove the button up layer and wear the pant a little higher at the waist to keep your tummy under cover.

Balance out the short length of a mom crop with a maxi skirt to give your look more depth. The Lucy Paris Mesh Pullover in Black is a great mommy layering piece. Wear a  Niki Biki Black Seamless Tank underneath for extra coverage and complete the look with the Ark & Co Black and White Pleated Column Maxi Skirt. This could be a great day to night look by simply adding a pair of heels and a crisp blazer to make the over all style more sleek.
