Summer brings blue skies and sunshiny days that can only mean one thing: it's time for a trip to the beach! We all know the basics of a good beach bag include sunscreen, towels, swimsuits, snacks, plastic shovels and buckets for sandcastles along with sunnies, hats and a good beach read. However, figuring out what to wear, especially post baby, can be somewhat of a challenge. So, I've complied a basic packing list of what staple clothes items you'll want in your bag when you hit the beach.

White Pieces

White is essential when packing for the beach because it's light and airy but can also match with anything else you pack. I recommend at least packing a pair of white shorts, a white button up and a white shirtdress. Each of these pieces can easily go from day to night, or in this case, beach to downtown. For the beach, slip on flip flops and for night swap the sandals out for heels or wedges and add a bit of jewelry with a plump red lip! Below are my favorite white pieces for the beach.

Boyfriend Jeans

Comfort at the beach is a must. Which is why a pair of boyfriend jeans is necessary for your suitcase! I LOVE this pair from Goldsign because these soft cotton cropped jeans have simple pocket detailing and a light distressed look that is perfect for summer. Plus, they're also a great transition piece that can be paired with sandals and a blouse during the day, then heels and a blazer at night. Below are a few of my favorite boyfriend jean looks.

Colorful Blouses

It's not summer without a dash of color! Pack a few printed and/or colorful blouses to pair with your boyfriend jeans and shorts to keep your daily looks fun and fresh. Stripes, florals and other printed patterns are always good to stock your bag with because they also allow you to change a look quickly just by swapping out your top. Below are a few of my favorite summertime blouses.

Cropped Blazer

Sometimes the beach can get a little chilly, so it's always a good idea to have a casual blazer or soft cardi on hand. Personally, I love a cropped blazer because it can instantly make a casual look sophisticated. Right now I'm obsessing over the COREY Donovan Denim Blazer (shown below) because its denim fabric is light yet fun but its structure is still sharp enough to chic up anything under it. It's certainly a vacation must-have.

Beach Tote

It's necessary to have a tote at the beach that can easily be cleaned and won't be harmed by sand or water. The Boulevard Canvas and Leather Tote (available in seven colors) is the perfect beach bag because it's large enough to hold all of your mommy and beach essentials but is chicer than the average nap time bag. Plus, its zippered top closure and magnet closure on the front pocket help keep contents secure and sand out.

For even more fun, make sure your little one is beach-ready in these pieces from COREY!

Hey, great post! You have a lovely stuff, but I personally prefer more dresses for the beach. I like to feel more light dressed and free.
