Mom Style Meets Festival Style

Fashion and music have been married to each other ever since the first model and rockstar got together. So it makes perfect sense that designers would cater to music festival attire as has become a bit of the spring attire norm.

Now, you may not be headed to Coachella this spring or Lalapalooza this summer, but a springtime festival, county fair, BBQ or field day may be in the cards as the weather gets warmer.

We're not saying hair flower garlands and high-waisted denim cutoffs are necessary, but we are saying a touch of bohemian flare is fun for such an occasion.

From flirty dresses to slouchy elastic waist pants, below are our nine favorite free spirit looks that are nursing- and mom-friendly. (Click the picture to view any of the looks.)

THE TRIBAL PRINT

Mixing prints, especially one that has a tribal or Aztec flare, is the basis of festival attire. Pair with printed or solid slouchy elastic waist pants and booties and you're ready to go!

THE COLORFUL SHIRTDRESS

Nothing says festival style like a colorful cosmic pattern! We particularly love this shirtdress because it's a great standalone piece that takes just a few seconds to throw on. Pair with booties or sandals and walk out the door to your festivities.

THE HI-LOW DRESS

The subtle olive earth tone of this sleeveless dress is perfect for outdoor events! Add a floppy sun hat, booties and a belt to pull the look together.

THE BOLD COLOR

Stand out of the crowd in coral and yellow! This bright poncho can be paired with pants or shorts and creates an effortless artistic air– fitting for any art, music or culinary festival.

THE JUMPSUIT

Between the zippers, the pockets and the drawstring waist, it's not only super festival-cool, it's a chic mom must-have! Cuff the pants and throw on some booties or sandals to complete the look.

THE SHIFT DRESS

Dance the night away in a breezy shift dress! This metallic dress is so fun paired with a fedora hat and sandals for the daytime or booties and red lipstick for an evening festival.

THE CLASSIC STRIPE

A collard shirt isn't typically considered festival attire, however, wear it untucked with a sleek pair of leggings, and you'll be one fabulous exception. Don't forget to complete the look with metallic sandals or booties!

THE PATTERNED BLOUSE

The juxtaposition of the cool navy shorts with the red hot Phoenix blouse from Mara Hoffman is certainly made for a summertime BBQ! Add a floppy sunhat and sandals and you're ready for some backyard fun!

THE DENIM SLOUCHY PANT

It's a rarity to find denim in something– dare I say it– comfy, but this denim cloth pant is a festival essential that's comfy and chic! Pair it with a bohemian or flower child-inspired hi-low top and sandals to complete the look.
